Dear friends and colleagues,

I’m excited to share some news about our organization with you. But first, some background.

You may know that I’ve devoted my entire career to health care, considering issues from many perspectives. As past president and CEO of the National Business Coalition on Health, I worked to identify health care cost drivers and establish baseline strategies for employer purchasing. I’m also the former head of Gordian Health Solutions, a population health management company. And a position as president and CEO of INSPIRIS gave me insights into elder care and the Medicare sphere.

From where I sit today, I can honestly say that the solutions our organization has offered for 30 years have never been more needed – or more valued.

Today, in response to a long trend of double-digit increases in health care premium costs, employers are shifting to a total health management approach, encouraging employees to improve health habits and head off potentially chronic health issues. It’s paying off: Some employers have seen a $3 to $1 return on investment for preventive services and health promotion.

This is a forward-thinking organization, and we have long believed in creating a culture of health to support employees’ personal health goals. Now that employers see the value of an integrated, holistic health improvement solution, it’s time to lead with our strength.

And so, what was Health Fitness Corporation – HFC – is now simply HealthFitness. Combining the two parts of our name reflects our strength as an integrated health and productivity management firm, dedicated to improving health along the continuum of care.

We are one organization, with more than 3,000 incredibly skilled and engaging people. HealthFitness collaborates with employers to design, deploy and directly manage health improvement solutions. Our people carry out company goals face-to-face at more than 400 worksites in North America, offering everything from assessment and screening services to spinning classes, smoking cessation, nutrition and weight management, safety training and much more.

And I really believe that nobody knows how to engage, educate, and keep employees motivated better than we do, whether online, on-site or by phone. It’s a real point of pride for us.

We work hard to personalize programs for unique employee populations, integrating our solutions with clients’ existing technology and related health care services, so it is seamless and simple for everyone. And every solution we provide is driven by results and performance – because clients demand it.

At the end of the day, what we do is reinvigorate lives – and revitalize work life. That hasn’t changed.

Now we are HealthFitness, and we’ve never been better.
